Increased pricing for Triumph Speed 400, spotted: Nissan's upcoming SUV, further updates
Ather Energy, the Indian electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has made its second foray into the Nepalese market with the launch of the Rizta electric scooter. The Rizta, designed with practicality and daily comfort in mind, is aimed at families and urban commuters.
The Rizta electric scooter is a family-friendly and feature-laden EV, following the success of Ather's Ather 450 series in Nepal. This move signals a stronger commitment by Ather Energy to the expanding EV market in the country.
Meanwhile, Nissan is making its mark in India's competitive midsize SUV segment with an upcoming offering. Expected to be launched by mid-2026, the new Nissan SUV will be based on the third-generation Renault Duster's CMF-B platform.
This five-seater midsize SUV is expected to directly compete with popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the Tata Sierra. The SUV's design is inspired by Nissan's flagship Patrol, featuring a rugged, upright design with characteristic elements such as flared wheel arches, a sculpted bonnet, and rectangular tail lights.
Interior features are expected to include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, and automatic climate control. The SUV may also offer petrol, hybrid, and CNG variants.
Nissan's entry into India's midsize SUV market comes after extensive testing on Indian roads in a heavily camouflaged form. The company aims to strengthen its presence in this highly competitive segment.
In a separate development, Triumph Motorcycles has announced a price adjustment for the Speed 400 model. The 2025 Triumph Speed 400 is now available at a price of ₹2.51 lakh (ex-showroom), making it approximately ₹52,000 pricier than the Triumph Speed T4. The Triumph Speed 400 is also ₹23,000 less expensive than the recently launched Thruxton 400.
