Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate Multiple Transport Projects in Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka on Sunday, where he is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several urban connectivity projects in Bengaluru at around 1 p.m.

The highlight of the event will be the launch of the Vande Bharat Express trains, which aim to enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and provide a world-class travel experience to passengers.

Three new Vande Bharat Express trains will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, running on the following routes:

  1. Bengaluru to Belagavi
  2. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Amritsar
  3. Ajni (Nagpur) to Pune

The Vande Bharat Express, the 11th in the Southern state, will be launched in Bengaluru.

Regarding the Ajni (Nagpur) to Pune route: - This service covers approximately 881 km and takes about 12 hours each way, operating six days a week (excluding Mondays). - Departure from Ajni is at 9:50 AM, arriving Pune at 9:50 PM. The return journey starts at Pune at 6:25 AM, reaching Ajni by 6:25 PM. - Major stops include Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, and Daund Chord Line. - This service is the longest and fastest Vande Bharat route in India. - The cost for the Ajni-Pune service is Rs 1,500 for the Chair Car (CC) class and Rs 3,000 for the Executive Chair (EC) class.

For the Bengaluru-Belagavi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Amritsar routes, specific travel times and fare details were not explicitly mentioned in the search results but are expected to be similar in semi-high-speed service style to enhance regional connectivity.

These initiatives are part of Indian Railways' expanding Vande Bharat Express network, which now has about 150 trains nationwide. The Vande Bharat Express trains are set to revolutionise travel in India, offering enhanced comfort, convenience, and faster travel compared to conventional trains.

The inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express train on the Bengaluru-Belagavi route is expected to provide a faster travel experience and enhance regional connectivity, with the fare for the executive chair car set at Rs 2,905 and the regular AC chair car at Rs 1,575. The Prime Minister's visit also marks the launch of the operational metro network in Bengaluru, increasing its length to over 96 km as the Yellow line is commissioned, part of the Bangalore Metro Phase-3 project worth over Rs 15,610 crore.
