Investment firm IK Partners secures €2 billion for its fourth small cap investment fund.
IK Partners, a leading private equity firm, has announced the successful closure of its Small Cap IV Fund (IK SC IV) with commitments totaling €2 billion. This marks the largest fund raised by the firm to date and a significant increase from its predecessor, IK Small Cap III, which raised €1.2 billion in 2021.
The fund attracted strong interest from investors, with 71% of the capital coming from the EMEA region, 18% from North America, and 11% from Asia. Notably, about 80% of the capital was raised from existing investors across the IK platform, indicating sustained investor confidence and continuity in the investor base.
Christopher Masek, CEO of IK Partners, expressed his continued success in the lower end of the mid-market, stating, "We are thrilled to have reached our hard cap for IK SC IV, and we are grateful for our investors' continued confidence and backing." Mads Ryum Larsen, Managing Partner and Head of Investor Relations, echoed this sentiment, thanking the investors for their trust and contributions to the successful close of the fund.
The IK SC IV will maintain a consistent investment strategy, targeting growing businesses in sectors such as Business Services, Healthcare, Consumer, and Industrials. Companies with enterprise values between €80 million and €200 million will be the focus. Like its predecessor, IK SC IV also includes a dedicated Development Capital pool of €600 million for investing in smaller companies valued between €20 million and €80 million.
Since launching its Small Cap strategy in 2015, IK has completed 56 transactions across four funds. In the current year alone, IK has invested in 21 new companies and completed 11 exits. The firm's multi-strategy offering allows it to remain resilient in a changing landscape.
Kristian Kemppinen, Managing Partner and Head of Small Cap Strategy, expressed his reassurance from investors following the successful close of the biggest flagship fund earlier this year. He stated, "The Small Cap strategy offers more choice and opportunity than ever." This sentiment is further supported by the €6 billion in commitments closed by IK, including the €505 million IK Strategic Opportunities I Fund in April 2024 and the €3.3 billion IK X Fund in April 2025.
IK SC IV has already made one investment, and the firm looks forward to continuing its successful track record in the small cap market. Over €2.1 billion has been realized from exited investments by IK since 2015, demonstrating the firm's ability to deliver strong returns for its investors.
Private equity firm IK Partners, with a focus on finance and investing, has successfully raised €2 billion for its Small Cap IV Fund (IK SC IV), marking the largest fund ever for the business.
