Izakaya restaurant named Pak Soii submits documents for establishment on Mount Vernon Avenue
New Japanese Izakaya Planned for Del Ray
A new addition to the Del Ray neighborhood is on the horizon, as a Japanese izakaya named Pak Soii Izakaya and Bar has filed paperwork to open at 1909 Mount Vernon Avenue. The former tenant of the property was Zuki Moon.
The owners of Pak Soii Izakaya and Bar, who also own Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas in the Carlyle neighborhood and Tsunami in Frederick, Maryland, signed a lease for the property back in April. An application for a change of ownership to the business was submitted to the city on August 14.
The proposed hours of operation for Pak Soii Izakaya and Bar are 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday. The restaurant does not plan to offer Sunday brunch.
The restaurant's capacity is limited to 38 seats, and no major interior renovations are planned. However, a new water heater, interior painting, and decorations will be added. The restaurant expects to serve up to 120 customers daily.
The restaurant's application does not mention any live entertainment or musical performances. It also does not mention any partnerships or collaborations with the owners' other establishments.
Pak Soii Izakaya and Bar plans to serve small plates of sushi and sashimi, as well as rice bowls. The owners have invited public comments on their proposal until August 28. The last day for public comments on the proposal is Aug. 28.
The restaurant is not currently open for business, but with the community's support, Pak Soii Izakaya and Bar is set to bring a unique dining experience to Del Ray.
