JAC Motors Reports 45% Rise in EV Sales in 2023, Driven by New SUV Launch and Nio Partnership
JAC Motors, a leading Chinese automaker, has reported impressive growth in its electric vehicle sales. From January to May, the company sold 243,875 units, marking a 45.19% increase from the same period last year. This surge in sales comes as JAC continues to expand its electric vehicle offerings, with the recent launch of the SOL E40our X, a smart electric SUV.
JAC's May sales figures also showed growth, with 44,391 units sold, a 6% increase from the previous year. The company's pure electric passenger car sales from January to May were particularly notable, with 43,958 units sold, representing a staggering 245.85% year-on-year increase. This growth can be attributed to the launch of the new SOL E40our X, priced at RMB 130,000-155,900 ($20,338-24,390) after subsidies.
JAC's partnership with Nio, another prominent Chinese EV manufacturer, has also contributed to its success. As Nio's auto manufacturing partner, JAC sold 9,113 all-electric passenger cars in May, up 131.81% year-on-year, although this was a 12.41% decrease from April. Despite this slight dip, JAC's sales remain robust, reflecting the growing demand for electric vehicles.
JAC Motors' strong performance in the electric vehicle market is a testament to its commitment to innovation and sustainability. With the successful launch of the SOL E40our X and its partnership with Nio, the company is well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory in the electric vehicle sector.
