Kamchatka Region's Brands to Showcase at Moscow's "Russia's Flavor" Event
Kamchatka Krai, a region renowned for its rich seafood and unique regional delicacies, is gearing up to participate in the National Gastronomic Festival "Tastes of Russia" in 2025. The event, scheduled to take place at VDNKh from August 14 to 24, aims to promote the food products of Kamchatka Krai and showcase the potential of its regional food brands.
Ekaterina Boboeva, Deputy Minister and Head of the Veterinary Department of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, has reported on the preparations for the event. The region's cooperation with the festival began in 2020, marking the start of a journey to gain broader recognition in the national market.
In 2021, the region won the "Nationwide" nomination with the brand "Kamchatka Salmon". Two new brands were added in the same year: "Tushonka from Kamchatka Venison" and "Kamchatka Mineral Water Malkinskaya". The festival intends to highlight the role of small and medium-sized businesses in the agro-industrial sector of Kamchatka Krai.
In 2020, five local products from Kamchatka were presented in the first National Competition of Regional Food Brands, including "Kamchatka Blueberry", "Kamchatka Fern", "Kamchatka Salmon", "Kamchatka Fish Sausage", and "Kamchatka Ivan-Chai" under the brand "Fairytale Kamchatka".
The festival is a significant national event designed to promote regional culinary traditions, specialty food products, and local producers from across Russia. Kamchatka Krai's participation helps boost local economies, preserve culinary heritage, and strengthen regional identity within the broader Russian cultural mosaic.
While specific details about Kamchatka Krai's participation from 2020-2025 in the "Tastes of Russia" festival are not extensively documented, it is clear that the region has used such platforms in recent years to highlight its regional food brands and support small businesses.
