Katapult Ocean's Final Deep Blue Fund Cohort: 13 Advanced Ocean Impact Startups Selected
Katapult Ocean has revealed the latest cohort of 13 companies for its Deep Blue Fund accelerator programme. This marks the final run of the $50m (€42.9m) fund, which has now backed 53 early-stage companies globally. The selected companies, with an average valuation of €25m, are the most advanced and mature to date.
The programme, which focuses on ocean-focused impact investments, has invested over €4m in the new cohort. Ticket sizes range from €150,000 to €500,000. Katapult Ocean, which manages five ocean-focused funds including the Asia Ocean Fund, invests early and often in seed to seed plus stages, reserving a significant portion for follow-on investments. To date, it has made seven follow-on investments.
The three-month accelerator programme offers tailored workshops, intensive leadership development, and access to a network of mentors, customers, and investors. The selected companies, which demonstrate a clear economic benefit for their customers alongside environmental or societal impact, hail from the USA, Norway, Canada, the UK, and Denmark. They include 'Open Ocean Robotics', 'Ocean Forest', 'Tidal', 'Ecoxy', and 'Seazone'.
Katapult Ocean's latest cohort reflects its commitment to supporting ocean-focused companies that drive positive change while generating economic value. With this final programme, the fund concludes its mission to accelerate over 90 companies across various ocean themes since 2018.
