Kazakhstan introduces groundbreaking investment platform: key particulars revealed

Kazakhstan Launches National Investment Platform for Streamlined Investment Management

Kazakhstan has announced the launch of a new digital system, the National Investment Platform, to facilitate investment management and promote transparency in the country's investment projects. The platform is part of the government's broader digital development agenda, aiming to boost efficiency and foster a more attractive investment climate.

The National Investment Platform serves as a centralized infrastructure where investment projects can be registered, monitored, and managed efficiently. It allows authorities and investors to track the progress and compliance of investment projects, improving transparency and reducing risks of mismanagement or corruption.

The platform offers several key features:

  • Project Registration and Tracking: Investment projects are logged into the platform, enabling authorities and investors to monitor their progress.
  • Transparency and Monitoring: By consolidating project data, the platform improves transparency in how investment projects are advancing.
  • Integration with Digital Infrastructure: It is part of Kazakhstan's digital development agenda, including the digitalization of its financial ecosystem and regulatory environment.
  • Facilitating Investment Management: Investors can use the platform to manage their portfolios and assess investment opportunities more effectively, as detailed data on ongoing projects is consolidated in one accessible system.

The National Investment Platform is currently in a pilot mode, with plans for a full launch in the near future. Each investment project's progress, from signing a memorandum to the launch of a plant, will be reflected on the platform. Each point on the platform is responsible for a specific state body, ensuring efficient coordination and oversight.

Investors can seek support and assistance through a one-window system, with Kazakh Invest and the regional organization, Almaty Invest, available to provide full project support until commissioning. The conditions created in Kazakhstan for investors include full infrastructure development, gas, electricity, water, and tax exemptions in industrial zones and special economic zones.

Jamaaldin Nadyrov, the regional director of Kazakh Invest, stated that exhibitions such as the 20th jubilee exhibition of Chinese goods and the ongoing HomeTech & Electra exhibition facilitate meetings between businessmen and investors from different countries. These events give a significant impetus for the opening of new industries and new plants in Kazakhstan.

The work on the National Investment Platform will be tracked in electronic format, ensuring transparency and accountability in the investment process. This aligns with Kazakhstan's overall strategy of digital economic development and regulatory modernization, as seen in related areas such as the digital asset regulation framework, the National Digital Financial Infrastructure, and investment facilitation via the Astana International Financial Centre.

For more detailed technical and operational aspects of the platform, consult official Kazakhstan government or investment agency sources.
