Greg Durst Joins Kirkland & Ellis as Senior Director of Global Fund Partnerships

Greg Durst has taken on a new role as the Senior Director of Global Fund Partnerships at Kirkland & Ellis, within its Investment Funds Group. Durst's appointment aims to strengthen the firm's relationships with the limited partner (LP) community during the fund formation process.

With a wealth of experience in the industry, Durst is well-equipped for his new role. Before joining Kirkland & Ellis, he served as Senior Managing Director of Global Growth at the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA). There, he played a pivotal role in launching ILPA’s first formal engagement with the general partner (GP) community and led significant growth initiatives, including the establishment of ILPA’s European office in London in 2023.

Durst's career also includes serving as the founding Chief Operating Officer of a hedge fund manager in New York and as head of investor relations at a leading growth capital provider in Southern Africa. His diverse background provides him with a unique understanding of investor expectations in fundraising, making him an invaluable asset for Kirkland & Ellis in building efficiency and consensus with limited partners in their investment fund clients’ processes.

Durst's expertise extends to translating LP expectations into practical solutions in fundraising. He is known for creating lasting partnerships that benefit all sides of the investment fund formation process. His deep commitment to continuous improvement is key to Kirkland's efforts to maintain leadership in the private funds sector.

Kirkland & Ellis is renowned as a top advisor in investment fund formation, having advised on more than 1,900 funds with total capital commitments exceeding $2.17 trillion since January 2019. With the addition of Greg Durst, the firm continues to strengthen its position in the industry.
