Weltbild D2C Group Acquires Vamos Shoe Brand from Klingel

In a significant move, the Weltbild D2C Group has announced its intention to expand its own brand "Orbisana" with the addition of the shoes from the Vamos brand, previously owned by the Klingel Group. The acquisition, which officially took place on January 31, 2024, marks another successful brand transaction for Klingel during its self-administration procedure.

The creditors' committee of Klingel unanimously approved the sale of the Vamos brand to Weltbild D2C Group. Klingel's CEO, Cord Henrik Schmidt, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the brand sales, stating that the process is proceeding positively.

Following the acquisition, the Vamos shoe brand continues to operate under the ownership of Weltbild D2C Group, a company focused on direct-to-consumer retail models. This transition is likely to involve integrating Vamos into Weltbild's broader portfolio, emphasising digital sales channels, and potentially expanding the brand’s market reach through Weltbild’s infrastructure.

Despite the change in ownership, there are no public indications that the Vamos brand has been discontinued or significantly altered in its product offering. The brand’s focus on comfortable, high-quality footwear remains intact, now supported by Weltbild D2C Group’s resources and distribution capabilities.

The acquisition strengthens Weltbild's commitment to the health segment, as Vamos' focus on footwear aligns well with Weltbild's existing product range. However, for more specific developments or changes regarding product lines, marketing strategy, or retail presence post-acquisition, updates may be required directly from Weltbild D2C Group or Vamos’ official communications.

The purchase price for the Vamos brand was not mentioned in the agency's statement, leaving room for further negotiations between the two parties. Promising negotiations for further brand sales from the Klingel Group are currently underway, indicating a potentially busy period for the company as it continues to streamline its operations.

The acquisition of the Vamos shoe brand by Weltbild D2C Group marks a strategic move in the industry, combining finances from two separate businesses. With this transaction, Weltbild D2C Group is fully integrating Vamos into its direct-to-consumer retail models and potentially expanding its market reach.

The move is anticipated to solidify Weltbild's presence in the health segment, given the focus on footwear by both brands, and may lead to further developments in their product lines, marketing strategy, or retail presence.
