Hold Up, Transport League in Chelyabinsk is Shufflin' On May 1st
Brace yourselves, commuters of Chelyabinsk! Hear me out, 'cause there's a twist coming your way on International Workers' Day, May 1st. According to RIA "Novyi Den", our city center will be buzzin' with the traditional track and field relay and cycling race celebration.
Now, listen up, 'cause this might affect your ride: from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Victory Prospect from Goltsev Street to Lenin Street, and Lenin Street from Victory Prospect to the Chelyabinsk Polytechnic College named after Khokhryakov (Lenin Street, 40) will have traffic completely sealed.
So, what’s a commuter to do? Well, fear not, 'cause the good folks at Chelyabinsk transportation have put together some alternate routes to keep you movin' on:
- Buses No. 4, 123, 128, 172 will dodge Victory Prospect via an intricate detour: "Bus Station - Sutyagina Street - Likhachev Street - 4th Five-Year Street - Kozhevnikov Street - Fruktovaya Street - Victory Prospect", then they’ll rejoin their regular path.
- Buses No. 2, 6, 10, 11, 12S, 19, 22, 28S, 41 will steer clear of Lenin Street and Victory Prospect with a circuitous route of their own: "Bus Station - Kuznetsova Street - Bor'by Street - Lenin Street - Kalinina Street - Kirova Street", and then they'll continue as usual.
- Bus No. 125 will also veer left with this shiny detour: "Bus Station - Kuznetsova Street - Bor'by Street - Lenin Street - Kalinina Street - Slavy Prospect - Karl Marx Street - Goltsev Street - Victory Prospect", and then they'll link back to their usual direction.
- Route No. 18K won't be stormin' the city center from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Now, bear in mind, this is just the lowdown for our bus friends. I haven't heard anything yet about trams, trolleybuses, or those nifty marshrutka services[3]. Be sure to double-check the city's official transportation sources as we get closer to the date. And hey, who knows? With the city's recent push for green technology[2], maybe they'll introduce those snazzy electric buses to the fleet[1].
