Kuwait, France Boost Bilateral Ties with Focus on Investment, Energy

Kuwait and France have bolstered their bilateral relations, focusing on investment, infrastructure, and energy. French Ambassador Olivier Gauvin and Kuwait's Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem, recently reviewed these ties and discussed potential collaborations.

The meeting covered a range of topics, including Kuwait's successful management of electricity and water demand during the summer, as presented by the Electricity Ministry. Minister Al-Mukhaizeem reiterated Kuwait's commitment to attracting foreign investment through public-private partnerships.

French companies showed keen interest in expanding their role in the Kuwaiti market, particularly in renewable energy, waste-to-energy, and water treatment. Major projects like the Shagaya Renewable Energy Project and the Nuwaiseeb Project were discussed, with Kuwait open to partnerships supporting sustainable growth. The talks also touched on electricity grid developments, regional energy security, water treatment initiatives, and services for new cities, as well as strengthening interconnections with neighboring countries.

Both Kuwait and France expressed their determination to enhance cooperation and strengthen their bilateral relations. With French companies showing strong interest in Kuwait's market, particularly in renewable energy and water treatment, the future of Kuwaiti-French cooperation looks promising.
