Kazakhstan's agricultural sector has experienced a significant boost in 2021, with record-breaking crop production. The total grain harvested surpassed 25 million tons, oilseeds reached approximately 3.3 million tons, and legumes were harvested around 640 thousand tons.

These impressive figures are a testament to the favourable climatic conditions and the adoption of modern agricultural technologies such as increased fertilizer use, elite seed usage, and improved agricultural machinery renewal. The sunflower oil and meal industry, a significant part of Kazakhstan's crop sector, has notably grown, with sunflower oil production increasing 2.5-fold over recent years.

The agricultural sector has also seen improvements in export opportunities, with new phytosanitary agreements allowing shipments of oilseeds, legumes, and cereals to countries including China, Turkey, Iran, and Azerbaijan.

One of the key contributors to this success story is the farm LLP "Zhuralyevka-1", which cultivates on 122,800 hectares of land, including cereals, oilseeds, legumes, potatoes, vegetables, and develops livestock farming. Through the 'Ken Dala' program, LLP "Zhuralyevka-1" received over 6 billion tenge for fertilizers, fuel, and equipment. This year, the farm has 64 new combines due to state support.

The enterprise also actively uses state support measures, receiving subsidized fuel and equipment. This year, 905 farmers received subsidized lending totaling over 116 billion tenge for spring fieldwork. Half of the allocated 250 billion tenge for equipment leasing has already been used.

As the harvesting season approaches, 38,000 combines, 138,000 tractors, and 50,000 mowers are ready for the task. LLP "Zhuralyevka-1" has over 530 employees and will start harvesting this week. The farm aims to achieve 23 centners per hectare, an increase from last year's 18 centners.

Another notable development is the commencement of John Deere equipment production in Kazakhstan, with the option to purchase it with a 30% subsidy. TOO "Viktorovskoye" in Zereninsky district, which processes 23,600 hectares of land, including 17,800 hectares of arable land and 6,800 hectares of pastures, also made an innovative move by planting sugar beets on bare land for the first time this year.

These data reflect the status and outcomes for the 2021 campaign with continued growth and technological adoption projected for the sector's future. The agricultural sector in Kazakhstan is poised for further success as it continues to adapt and innovate.

This summarized data is based on reports published in 2025 providing retrospective yield figures and agricultural analysis for Kazakhstan's crop production.

The agricultural sector's success in Kazakhstan, highlighted by record-breaking crop production in 2021, is not only attributed to favorable weather conditions but also the adoption of modern technologies and increased support from the government. This growth has extended to industries like the sunflower oil and meal sector, which has significantly expanded in recent years. Furthermore, the energy sector in Kazakhstan is also benefiting from this growth, as the rise in agricultural production creates a demand for fuel and machinery, such as the new John Deere equipment produced within the country.
