Launched: New Rail Service Connecting Zagreb, Ljubljana, and Pula
Salty's Scoop: New Train Line Roars Back to Life - Zagreb-Ljubljana-Pula Route Centre Stage Again
It's been a tad longer than we care to remember, but the time has finally come! June 20th, 2025, has marked the return of the Zagreb-Ljubljana-Pula train route, setting the rails ablaze once more!
Y'all know we're talkin' about it - Poslovni Dnevnik yells - and rightfully so! HŽ Passenger Transport and Slovenian Railways have pulled off a stunner, locking horns to introduce a direct railway connection along this line. The partnership between these two rail titans promises a series of new direct railway routes as well, giving you travel buffs plenty more reasons to cheer!
Mark your diaries folks, 'cause starting from the 15th of June until the 13th of December, 2025, this line's gonna be rockin'! You can catch the train every Friday afternoon at 14:24 from Zagreb and reach Pula by 21:31 the same day. And if you fancy the ride back, jump aboard the return journey every Sunday, cosmically aligned to keep that weekend vibe intact.
Wonderin' what'll take you from A to B? Well, buckle up, 'cause this ain't your Grandma's roller coaster! The three cities will be connected by a badass low-floor train, under the ownership of Slovenian Railways. You heard that right, it's fully adapted for people in wheelchairs, got places for bikes and strollers, and even offers Wi-Fi and a modern passenger information system. Think about it, a smooth ride at speeds up to 140 km/h, 171 plush seats, and the comforts modern technology provides, what more could you ask for?

That ain't all, travel lovers, with current six daily trains between Zagreb and Ljubljana, two new lines will join the party on Fridays and Sundays. And to keep the good times rollin' on the coast, starting June 21st, two new trains will be connectin' Pula and Divača on Saturdays. Don't think summer is done yet, 'cause from June the 28th to August the 31st, four seasonal border trains will run between Buzet and Divača.
But wait, there's more! The new connection and upcoming lines aim to amp up regional connectivity and promote green, sustainable travel. The ticket prices for these lines are said to be purse-friendly, so you can roam the rails without worryin' about going broke.
