Lebensader Lux: Luxembourg's Major Street Transformation Underway
The Lebensader Lux project, led by Luxembourg's Ministry of the Interior, is transforming Luxemburger Straße. Nighttime single-lane entry to the site continues, while two-way traffic remains between Bonnstraße and AOK-Straße. Completion is expected in early 2027.
The project includes a traffic-calmed zone with greenery on Luxemburger Straße, between Bonnstraße and Horbeller Straße. Access to Severinusstraße via Luxemburger Straße is temporarily closed for shaft construction. Two roundabouts will be built, and the middle section will become a cycle street with a 30 km/h speed limit.
During construction, traffic flow in Severinusstraße is reversed. Entry is via Weidengasse, and exit via Fritz-Räcke-Straße. A new pipeline will connect wastewater from Bonnstraße's tributaries to the canal in Severinusstraße. Sidewalks between Horbeller Straße and AOK-Straße will be barrier-free again in early 2026.
The Lebensader Lux project aims to improve traffic flow and infrastructure. With a completion date set for early 2027, the project brings changes to traffic patterns and access routes, ultimately enhancing the area's usability and accessibility.
