The plants, located near Colston Bassett, Crewkerne, and Iwade, have a combined capacity of 15 MW and are now fully operational. The solar power plants, developed and operated by Lightsource bp, have a total rated power of 15 MW. This means they can generate enough solar power to supply electricity to approximately 6,000 households. OPDE, a prominent player in the solar market, has established a strong presence with a portfolio of 90 MW of plants. The company continues to expand its footprint, contributing to the UK's renewable energy targets. The successful connection of these solar power plants to the grid is a testament to Lightsource bp's commitment to renewable energy.
