BYD Yangwang U8L Dingshi Edition: A Luxurious and Technologically Advanced Full-Size SUV
Pre-sale for the BYD Yangwang U8L Dingshi Edition will commence in China on July 31st. This luxury full-size SUV boasts a length of 5400 mm, a width of 2049 mm, and a height of 1921 mm, with a wheelbase of 3250 mm. It is an extended variant of the regular Yangwang U8 model, featuring a six-seat configuration in a 2+2+2 layout.
Under the hood, the U8L Dingshi Edition is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline range-extender engine combined with four electric motors (two front and two rear). Each motor outputs 220 kW (295 hp), with a total system output reaching up to 880 kW (1,180 hp) and a maximum torque of 1,280 Nm. The vehicle is based on BYD’s exclusive e4 (Yisifang) technology platform, providing independent control of all four wheels and enabling features such as tank turns, tire blowout stabilization, and emergency water flotation. It also uses the DiSus-P intelligent suspension system for adaptive all-terrain capability.
The advanced driving assistance system, branded "God’s Eye" (DiPilot 600), integrates three LiDAR sensors to deliver sophisticated autonomous driving features, including highway navigation, automatic parking assistance, and urban navigation capabilities.
Inside, the U8L Dingshi Edition offers a luxurious "mobile lounge" environment with premium materials such as Nappa leather (processed through 78 steps), natural teak or walnut wood trim, and wool carpeting. The cabin includes a triple-screen display setup: a 23.6-inch LCD instrument panel, a 12.8-inch curved OLED central control screen, and a 23.6-inch co-pilot entertainment screen. The second-row seats are executive zero-gravity style with multiple comfort and entertainment options including dual armrest screens, footrests, foldable tables, and wireless chargers.
Additional luxury features include a refrigerator in the center console (-6°C to 50°C), a dual-tone exterior paint (Obsidian Black and Solar Flare Gold), 23-inch or optional 24K gold-plated alloy wheels, gold accents on body parts and the steering wheel, and a split power tailgate with memory and 200 kg load capacity at the lower door.
