Görlich Takes Helm at Hertha BSC
Peter Görlich, a 58-year-old sports scientist with a Master of Business Administration degree, is set to take on a new challenge as the CEO of Hertha BSC GmbH & Co. KGaA, starting September 1, 2025. Görlich, who previously served as CEO of TSG Hoffenheim from 2015 to 2021, brings a wealth of professional football management experience to his new role.
The decision to appoint Görlich was made unanimously by the Presidium and the Supervisory Board of Hertha BSC e.V., reflecting their confidence in his expertise, strategic approach, and passion for the club. Görlich will join current CEO Ralf Huschen in leading the company.
When Görlich took over TSG Hoffenheim, the club was in 18th place in the Bundesliga. Under his leadership, the team managed to qualify for the Champions League. Dr. Torsten-Joern Klein, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hertha BSC, appreciates Görlich's structured, goal-oriented, and strategic approach.
Dr. Peter Görlich expressed his excitement about taking on the challenge of leading Hertha BSC and stated that the Berlin Way will be the guideline for his leadership. He aims to future-proof and breathe life into the Berlin Way, a philosophy that emphasizes the club's connection to the city of Berlin and its fans.
The sports consulting agency Sportheads provided support throughout the appointment process. The official presentation of Görlich as the CEO of Hertha BSC GmbH & Co. KGaA will take place on September 1, 2025, during a press conference. The exact time for the press conference will be announced soon.
President Fabian Drescher stated that Görlich is the ideal fit for Hertha BSC, as he has extensive expertise, a strategic approach, and a passion for the club.
