Manchester City Secures Historic Deal with Puma, Valued at a Whopping $1.5 Billion

Manchester City has sealed a groundbreaking 10-year partnership extension with sports apparel brand Puma, marking the largest kit sponsorship contract in Premier League history. The new deal, worth up to £1 billion, will see the Sky Blues receive around £100 million per year, a significant increase from their previous £65 million annual agreement.

Effective until at least 2035, the extended partnership includes Manchester City's men's, women's, and youth teams, though other clubs within the City Football Group (CFG) have separate agreements with Puma. The collaboration has been a resounding success, contributing to Manchester City's on-field achievements, such as four consecutive Premier League titles and a treble in the 2022-23 season.

The partnership has also been commercially successful, setting new sales records and introducing popular kits like the 2022-23 Colin Bell-inspired home shirt. Puma CEO Arthur Hoeld described the partnership as a "great success on and off the pitch."

The extended partnership aims to continue innovating and creating products that appeal to Manchester City's growing global fan base. Both parties are committed to maintaining their successful collaboration both on and off the pitch.

As of May, Manchester City was valued at $5.16 billion, making it the sixth-highest valued soccer team globally and the third-highest in the EPL. The new deal sets a record for a Premier League club's partnership with a kit manufacturer, with the deal being longer than a reported 10-year agreement, making it worth a minimum of £1.5 billion for the first 11 years.

Manchester City's sky blue and white jerseys have become popular globally, led by striker Erling Haaland's No. 9. The club posted revenue of $901 million for the 2023-24 season, ranking second globally in soccer revenue, behind Real Madrid.

However, Manchester City faces 115 charges of breaking Premier League financial fair play rules from 2009 to 2018, and a ruling on these charges is yet to be issued. Despite this, the club continues to thrive, both on and off the pitch, under the extended partnership with Puma.
