Martin Michon Assumes CEO Role at R&R Partners
Stepping Up and Reinventing: R&R Partners' New Leadership and Brand Identity
It's a new era at R&R Partners, with Michon Martin stepping up as CEO, taking over from Billy Vasilliadis who moves into a chairman role. Since buying a stake in the Las Vegas-based agency back in 1994, Vasilliadis had been president, CEO, and majority owner of the creative powerhouse.
Enter Michon Martin, who joined R&R as president in 2016, bringing her unparalleled problem-solving skills to the table. Before joining R&R, Martin served as chief counsel to the office of Nevada's governor and chief deputy attorney general for Nevada, working alongside former Vice President Kamala Harris. Her expertise as a prosecutor, adept at analyzing situations, understanding their complexities, and persuading audiences, has been instrumental in wooing the likes of Formula 1, Major League Baseball, the National Football League, and the Women's National Basketball Association to Las Vegas.
Martin shared her thoughts on her career transformation, saying, "As a prosecutor, my job was to establish the facts, understand everything about the situation, choose the right audience-the jury-to listen to those facts and convince them. It's a very good base to use that skill set for exactly what we do. I dig in and figure out the entirety of whatever the client's problem is. Understanding what consumers are dealing with is the way to solve problems uniquely."
With Martin at the helm, R&R Partners is ready for its next chapter. In her new role, she continues to oversee creative, digital, and government affairs, working with respected clients such as Allegiant Air, Boeing, Brand USA, Discover Puerto Rico, F1, the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, and United Parks and Resorts.
Vasilliadis, now the chairman, is quick to express his admiration for Martin. "Michon is R&R-she's remarkable and resilient, and resourceful and relentless," he said. "She embraces the future with unbounded enthusiasm and vision. She fiercely fights for our clients' success, and with equal ferocity protects all of us she works with and leads. I'm so fortunate to be here with her and for her, as I get to witness the ascension of our industry's next superstar. Look out world, here comes Michon."
A Fresh Look for R&R Partners
R&R Partners is also unveiling a new brand identity, including a revamped logo and an updated color palette, merchandise, stylebook, and website that exudes a bold, playful vibe. The employee merchandise serves as a sort of rallying cry for the agency's 300-plus employees, instilling a sense of belonging and purpose. As chief creative officer Chuck Monn explained, "This new branding embraces a fun, minimalistic tone that leans into the concept of 'play,' which is at the heart of everything we do."
Martin's promotion comes after a series of significant personnel changes at R&R Partners, bringing in talents from various renowned agencies, such as Chuck Monn from Media Arts Lab, Matt Matzen from Deutsch, David Panzarasa and Kat Urban from Chiat Day, and Richard Oldfield from R/GA.
As chairman, Vasilliadis remains vital to R&R Partners' strategic and creative direction, offering his decades of experience in tourism, including the iconic "What Happens in Vegas...Stays in Vegas" campaign and stints as an advisor to Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Vasilliadis, Martin, and the rest of R&R Partners are all set to continue their winning streak, ready to tackle new challenges and redefine what Las Vegas has to offer.
