Mercedes-Benz Cars Reports Q3 2025 Sales Drop, Top-End Vehicles Shine

Mercedes-Benz Cars has reported a decline in vehicle sales for the third quarter of 2025. The company sold 441,500 vehicles, a 3% decrease from the previous quarter and 12% lower than the same period last year.

The North American market saw a significant drop, with sales plummeting 17% year-on-year to 80,000 units. Meanwhile, the entry segment sales increased 8% quarter-on-quarter but remained 12% lower year-on-year at 123,800 units. Top-end vehicle sales, however, bucked the trend, rising 10% year-on-year to 67,800 in Q3.

Europe remained relatively stable, with sales up 1% quarter-on-quarter and 2% year-on-year to 160,800 units. The Rest of the World region also showed growth, with sales up 12% year-on-year to 25,200 units. However, the core segment volumes fell 17% year-on-year to 249,800 units in Q3.

China, particularly, contributed to the overall decline. China's sales dropped 27% year-on-year to 125,100 units. Market conditions and tariff policies, particularly in the US and China, were cited as factors impacting sales.

Year-to-date sales totalled 1,341,400 units, an 8% decline compared to the prior year. Despite the declines, Mercedes-Benz Cars remains optimistic, pointing to the strong performance of top-end vehicles and the growth in the Rest of the World region.
