MARQ1 Announces New Leadership and Vision as Merger Completes

Australia's cyber security landscape is set for a significant shift, as the merger of two leading Australian businesses, CSO Group and xAmplify, is finalised by September 30, 2024. The new entity, MARQ1, will become the country's largest home-grown integrated cyber security and AI services group.

The new management structure at MARQ1 is designed to integrate and streamline both sides of the business. Howard Fyffe, recently appointed as chief revenue officer (national), will oversee engagement with state government and private sector clients. Tom Scicluna, previously from xAmplify, will become the chief revenue officer (federal), with overall responsibility for Federal public sector and ACT clients.

Meanwhile, Hank Clark, previously CSO Group chief strategy officer, will step into the new role of head of strategy - cyber and intelligence at MARQ1. Daniel Keys, former Department of Health CIO and xAmplify head of innovation of futures, will take on a new leadership role at MARQ1 as head of strategy - AI and automation.

Wayne Gowland, CEO of xAmplify, will lead operations and sales as MARQ1's Chief operating officer. Gowland expressed the company's commitment to delivering unparalleled value to its customers.

The founders of MARQ1 are the leadership teams of both CSO Group and xAmplify. The unified MARQ1 brand will be launched across all platforms, including a new website, social media, packaging, and marketing materials, starting October 1.

MARQ1 will provide access to the combined capabilities of CSO Group and xAmplify, offering services in strategy, governance, risk and compliance, managed security, AI, technology, and business automation. The total headcount of MARQ1 will exceed 160, with specialists in cyber, automation, and AI.

With its focus on cybersecurity for high-performance IT services and sovereign-secure AI technologies, MARQ1 has ambitious goals for the levels of excellence it aims to deliver to its clients and for its own growth within the Australian digital consulting and technology ecosystems.
