Metro modifies staircase replacements on Line 8's Bellas Artes station, alters elevator functionality
The Bellas Artes station on Line 8 of the STC Metro is undergoing renovations, with the replacement of two electromechanical escalators being a significant part of the project. This work is a civil protection measure aimed at ensuring passenger safety and enabling the seamless execution of the replacement without any hazards or interruptions.
The central platform at the Bellas Artes station will be partially inaccessible during the escalator replacement work. Users are advised to follow the directions of institutional security personnel and officers from the Secretary of Citizen Security, who will guide them to use the side platforms for exiting and entering. The Metro has announced that access and exit at the station will only be possible through the side platforms, both towards Constitution of 1917 and Garibaldi.
The Collective Transportation System (STC) is carrying out this work, and the removal of the obsolete escalators, which are over 30 years old, will take place in the near future. The adjustments to the train's ascents and descents at the station may be necessary due to the escalator replacement, and users should expect some impact on their commuting experience.
The STC administration has requested the public's support and understanding for this necessary measure to avoid potential risks and carry out the replacement of the two escalators efficiently. The work on the floor, lighting, and escalators is ongoing at the Bellas Artes station.
