Mobile Users Gain Flexibility with Enhanced Cancellation Rights
Mobile users now enjoy enhanced cancellation rights, making it easier and more flexible to switch providers. Key changes include reduced notice periods and special termination rights in certain circumstances.
Customers can now cancel their mobile contracts online, via letter, or email. Some providers, like T-Mobile, Mint Mobile, and Boost Mobile, even offer online cancellation. Vodafone, PremiumSIM, and Tchibo mobile require written notice, either by letter, fax, or email.
Some providers allow cancellation at any time, with the option to withdraw the cancellation before the contract period ends. Number porting is free for customers upon cancellation, enabling them to keep their number when switching providers.
Special cancellation rights apply if the provider fails to deliver promised services, significantly increases prices, or if the customer moves abroad. In such cases, customers can terminate their contract early, regardless of the minimum term. A price increase of over 5% or persistently poor service also triggers these special rights.
Mobile users now have more control over their contracts, with simplified cancellation processes and enhanced rights. This allows customers to seek better deals, new customer bonuses, or tailored tariffs with ease.
