Munich's Public Pools Hike Prices from Jan 1, 2025
Starting January 1, 2025, Munich's public swimming pools will see an increase in admission prices due to rising costs. The Stadtwerke München, which subsidizes the pools to support swimming education and public access, has announced the new rates.
The increase is due to rising personnel and material costs, including cleaning, consumables, maintenance, and staff wages. Indoor pools with basic equipment will now have regular rates of 5.80€ (up from 5.50€) and discounted rates of 4.00€ (up from 3.80€). Pools with special attractions will have regular rates of 6.90€ (up from 6.60€) and discounted rates of 4.60€ (up from 4.40€). Outdoor pools in the 2025 season will have regular rates of 6.30€ (up from 6.00€) and discounted rates of 4.00€ (up from 3.80€). The Dante-Winter-Warmfreibad will have a new regular rate of 10.50€ (up from 9.90€) and discounted rates of 6.90€ (up from 6.60€). Sauna prices will also increase, with a 4-hour pass costing 23.00€ (up from 22.00€) and a day pass costing 34.50€ (up from 33.00€). The evening sauna price at most pools will be 17.50€ (up from 16.50€), and 13.50€ at Bad Forstenrieder Park (up from 13.20€).
The Stadtwerke München continues to subsidize swimming pools to maintain swimming education and public access despite increased construction and maintenance costs. The new rates will apply from January 1, 2025. For updates and highlights, readers are encouraged to subscribe to the newsletter.
