**Semtech Unveils Specialised Transient Voltage Suppressor for Automotive Ethernet**

Semtech Corporation, a leading supplier of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, has announced the launch of the RClamp10022PWQ, a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) designed specifically for automotive Ethernet applications. This innovative device is set to address the growing need for reliable high-speed data transmission in the evolving automotive industry.

The RClamp10022PWQ offers critical protection for automotive Ethernet networks, safeguarding them against harmful transient voltages and electrostatic discharge (ESD). As vehicles become increasingly connected and reliant on Ethernet for data and communication, the RClamp10022PWQ ensures that these systems remain operational and safeguarded against electrical overstress.

This line-side TVS diode provides protection directly on the data lines of Ethernet systems, helping maintain stable communications and prevent data loss or hardware damage. It effectively suppresses voltage spikes caused by ESD, cable discharge events (CDE), and electrical fast transients (EFT), which are common in automotive settings, especially under harsh electrical conditions.

The RClamp10022PWQ boasts an ultra-low capacitance of 0.6pF maximum, ensuring signal integrity for high-speed automotive networks up to 10Gbps. It also features a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for deployment in various automotive environments.

The device's flow-through package design simplifies PCB layout, while its side-wettable flanks facilitate automated optical inspection. Notably, the RClamp10022PWQ is fully compliant with Open Alliance specifications for 10BASE-T1S, 100BASE-T1, and 1000BASE-T1 automotive Ethernet interfaces, ensuring interoperability across different vehicle platforms and simplifying the qualification process for tier-1 suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Semtech will showcase the RClamp10022PWQ at the upcoming Automotive Ethernet Congress in Munich from February 18 - 20, 2025. Interested parties can visit Semtech's stand in hall D-06 to learn more about available reference designs and connect with the company's technical experts.
