Nordex Shares Taking Off Successfully
In a significant stride for the renewable energy sector, Nordex, a leading player in the wind industry, has secured several new deals and announced plans for expansion.
The latest development comes from SAB WindTeam, who have ordered 13 units of Nordex's N163/6.X type wind turbines for the Fretzdorfer Heide wind farm project in Brandenburg, Germany. With a total capacity of 91 megawatts, this project is a signal for the further expansion of renewable energies in the country and a sign of sustainable development in the region.
The Fretzdorfer Heide wind farm project is expected to commence construction in the third quarter of 2026, with full commissioning of all turbines scheduled for spring 2027. The contract with SAB WindTeam includes a 20-year premium service to ensure high turbine availability during operation.
Felipe Villalon Waldburg-Zeil, Director of Sales Region Central at Nordex Group, expressed pride in working with SAB WindTeam on the Fretzdorfer Heide project.
In addition to the Fretzdorfer Heide project, Nordex has also secured orders from the UKA Group for 435 MW of wind turbines in Germany. This includes 52 N175/6.X and 12 N163/6.X turbines, with construction and commissioning planned for 2026 and 2027. The order also includes a 20-year maintenance agreement.
Nordex has also received new orders totaling 135 MW across the UK, Belgium, and France. These orders include supply, installation, and service agreements, with deliveries expected to begin in mid-2026.
In a strategic move, Nordex is reopening its wind turbine plant in Iowa, USA. This move is part of a long-term strategy to leverage existing facilities, especially as the industry faces challenges like tightened tax credits in the U.S.
Nordex currently employs more than 10,400 people and has installed around 57 GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets. The company's stock has developed noticeably better than its competitors, with the Nordex share recently sustainably overcoming the GD50 and heading towards its yearly high.
Despite not being active in the weakening offshore business, Nordex continues to make strides in the onshore sector, positioning itself as the first choice in the wind sector. With its commitment to sustainable development, innovative technology, and strategic expansion, Nordex is poised for continued success in the renewable energy market.
