Nvidia pours billions into Intel's pockets for investment

In a significant turn of events, Intel's share price surged by an impressive 23 percent in US trading following the announcement of its partnership with Nvidia. The rise, which saw Intel's share price close at $30.57 in New York, was likely due to the anticipated benefits of this strategic alliance.

The partnership between these tech giants is set to reshape the chip industry, with Nvidia providing Intel with multi-billion dollar support. Nvidia, a company previously known mainly for its graphics cards, has benefited from this partnership with explosive growth and is now the world's most valuable company, boasting a current market value of $4.3 trillion.

Intel, once a leading force in the chip industry, has faced challenges in recent years, losing some of its influence. The partnership with Nvidia could provide a much-needed boost, as the companies plan to develop chips together. Intel will build processors for Intel's X86 system adapted to Nvidia's data center technology.

Nvidia's chip systems are the key technology for training and operating software with artificial intelligence, an area where Intel has been struggling to keep up. This partnership could help Intel close the gap and compete more effectively in the AI market.

However, potential customers are hesitant regarding Intel's plans to become a more prominent contract manufacturer for other chip companies. The US government, which has secured a ten percent stake in Intel for a purchase price of around $23.28 per share, could potentially influence the company's future decisions and strategies.

The US President, Donald Trump, reportedly required something in return for the subsidies promised last year, which were part of the billions invested in Intel. The name of Intel's CEO who is connecting with Nvidia for technical collaboration is Lip-Bu Tan.

Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, stated that the partnership with Intel shows that the computer world is fundamentally changing. While the financial support from Nvidia is significant, the technical cooperation could be more important for Intel's future success.

Meanwhile, Intel's ambitious plans to build new factories have been scaled back, with the planned factory in Magdeburg being canceled. The partnership with Nvidia could be a step towards a new era for Intel, as the company seeks to regain its position as a major player in the chip industry.
