Offenbach's Senior Residence on Annastraße Switches to Eco-Friendly District Heating
Offenbach's senior residence on Annastraße is switching to eco-friendly district heating this year. The city aims to be climate-neutral by 2045, and this move significantly reduces CO2 emissions. The energy supply company, while unnamed, is supporting this transition.
The conversion to district heating will not burden tenants with additional costs. GBO, managing around 5,000 apartments, expects at least a 30 percent subsidy for the investment. The senior living facility benefits from the nearby district heating line, with the conversion expected to be completed in time for the next heating season.
GBO, a non-profit building society, is committed to sustainable energy. It manages around 1,600 apartments already heated by district heating and is exploring conversions for the remaining gas-operated systems. The district heating comes from EVO Energieversorgung Offenbach GmbH's energy plant on Dietzenbacher Straße, aiming for climate neutrality by 2040.
The senior residence on Annastraße is set to enjoy sustainable energy in the coming heating season. GBO's commitment to district heating supports Offenbach's goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2045, reducing emissions by around 70 percent per apartment.
