In Wuppertal, Germany, ongoing disruptions and cancellations on several regional train lines, including RE 4, RE 7, RE 13, RE 49, RB 48, S7, S8, and S9, are causing significant inconvenience for commuters.

The Regional Express (RE) 13 line, which connects Wuppertal and Hamm (Westf) via Dortmund, is currently operating on a reduced timetable until December 13, 2025, to stabilize train operations. This indicates ongoing operational challenges, though not necessarily total cancellations.

Other regional lines, such as the RB 61, are also experiencing restrictions and service interruptions due to personnel shortages, with these issues expected to continue until at least June 20, 2025.

Recent investigations by the federal police have been launched to determine the cause of a disruption that led to a train line being halted. A woman fell onto a regional train near an unspecified location around 6 AM, causing an evacuation of approximately 80 passengers who had to wait for about two hours for firefighters to ensure safety.

As a result of the disruption, long-distance traffic is being rerouted, and some regional expresses from Wesel terminate and begin in Essen Hbf, leading to partial cancellations between Essen Hbf and Wuppertal Hbf.

To accommodate passengers during these disruptions, various bus services have been established. Two direct buses operate between Wuppertal Hbf and Hagen Hbf without intermediate stops. Additionally, an RRS operates between Wuppertal Hbf and Wuppertal-Vohwinkel with three buses, making intermediate stops at Wuppertal-Steinbeck, Wuppertal-Zoologischer Garten, and Wuppertal-Sonnborn. The bus continues to Mettmann Stadtwald, where it connects to line S 28 towards Düsseldorf.

Eight buses between Wuppertal Hbf and Hagen Hbf (with all intermediate stops - S-bahn) and two buses between Wuppertal Hbf and Haan Gruiten (with an intermediate stop in Wuppertal-Sonnborn, Wuppertal-Vohwinkel) are also in operation. Furthermore, one bus connects Wuppertal-Oberbarmen and Wuppertal Ronsdorf (for line S 7). Two express buses also operate between Wuppertal Hbf and Hagen Hbf, making intermediate stops at Wuppertal-Unterbarmen, Wuppertal-Barmen, Wuppertal-Oberbarmen, Schwelm, and Ennepetal.

Disruptions or restrictions are expected to continue until the afternoon, with S7 trains passing through Wuppertal-Oberbarmen without stopping in both directions, resulting in missed stops and potential isolated train cancellations. S9 S-bahns from Recklinghausen Hbf terminate and begin in Wuppertal Hbf, while trains from Hagen Hbf terminate and begin in Schwelm, leading to partial cancellations between Schwelm and Wuppertal Hbf.

S8 S-bahns from Mönchengladbach Hbf terminate and begin in Wuppertal Hbf, causing partial cancellations between Düsseldorf Hbf and Wuppertal-Oberbarmen. Trains terminate and begin in Wuppertal Hbf, resulting in cancellations from Wuppertal Hbf to Dortmund Hbf.

Passengers in Wuppertal are advised to expect continued adjustments and to check real-time updates before traveling. For the most current, line-specific status, contacting local operators such as Eurobahn or Deutsche Bahn directly would provide the latest real-time information.
