Adani Defence & Aerospace Expands into MRO Sector with Indamer Technics Acquisition
Adani Defence Systems and Technologies Limited (ADSTL) has made a strategic move into the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector with the acquisition of Indamer Technics Private Limited (ITPL), a leading private-sector MRO provider in India. The acquisition, made through ADSTL's joint venture Horizon Aero Solutions Limited, bolsters Adani's presence in the aviation MRO sector and positions it to meet the growing needs of both commercial and defence aviation markets.
The state-of-the-art ITPL facility, located in Nagpur's MIHAN special economic zone, spans 30 acres and includes 15 aircraft bays across 10 hangars. The facility is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the USA, and other global civil aviation regulators.
The acquisition is a significant step in Adani’s vision to deliver a full-spectrum MRO offering, encompassing lease return inspections, heavy C-checks, structural repairs, and aircraft painting. With India's aviation industry rapidly growing and expected to induct over 1,500 new aircraft in the coming years, this move aligns with the country's aviation growth trajectory and defense self-reliance goals.
The partnership between Adani Defence & Aerospace and Indamer Technics aims to create enhanced value for stakeholders through integrated solutions and operational excellence. The strategic location of Indamer Technics in Nagpur, at the centre of the country, adds immense value to Adani Defence & Aerospace's operations. The shared vision between Adani Defence & Aerospace and Indamer Technics is to build a world-class MRO ecosystem out of India, delivering exceptional value to customers and stakeholders globally.
Prajay Patel, Director of Indamer Technics and Prime Aero, expressed his excitement about partnering with Adani Defence & Aerospace to take Indamer Technics to new heights. The collaboration between Adani Defence & Aerospace and Indamer Technics unlocks significant synergies between the two companies, particularly with Adani's existing aviation enterprise, Air Works. Together, they aim to create a single-point aviation services platform that is driven by world-class quality standards and customer satisfaction.
This acquisition is the next step in Adani Defence & Aerospace's vision to deliver a full-spectrum MRO offering, meeting the needs of both commercial and defence aviation sectors. As a pioneer in the design, development, and manufacturing of state-of-the-art defence products, Adani Defence & Aerospace is well-positioned to capitalize on this opportunity and further strengthen its position as the largest private-sector MRO player in India.
