Paul Hastings announces that Megan Roberts has taken on a partner role within the firm at their Chicago branch.
Paul Hastings, a leading global law firm, has strengthened its Asset-Backed Finance practice with the addition of Megan Roberts as a partner in its Chicago office.
Roberts, who previously worked at Sidley Austin LLP, brings a wealth of experience in advising on complex asset-backed finance transactions, including capital markets and private securitizations. Her expertise spans a wide range of asset classes, such as student loans, unsecured consumer loans, auto loans, and trade receivables.
During her tenure at Sidley Austin, Roberts worked with prominent clients including Barclays, Blackstone, Carlyle, KKR, Cadma Capital Partners, and OneMain Finance Corporation. Some of her notable transactions include representing major financial clients like Carlyle and KKR in the acquisition of a portfolio of prime private student loans from Discover Bank valued at approximately $10.1 billion, and advising KKR’s credit funds on the purchase of a $7.2 billion portfolio of super-prime recreational vehicle loans from BMO Bank National Association.
Her addition to Paul Hastings is part of the firm's ongoing growth and is expected to help it take more market share in asset-backed finance. The firm's Asset-Backed Finance practice is considered the number one in both the U.S. and the U.K., and its structured credit practice is highly regarded for securitization and specialty finance products.
Roberts expressed her excitement about joining Paul Hastings and looking forward to collaborating with colleagues to meet the growing needs of clients for more sophisticated and customized asset-backed financing solutions.
The firm has also recruited several other partners in New York and London, indicating its strategic success in expanding its market share with leading asset manager and investment bank clients in asset-backed finance. In 2024, the firm's Asset-Backed Finance practice and structured credit practice were both recognized as top Global and U.S. CLO Arranger Counsel by Creditflux.
