Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service, has announced a price increase for its subscription plans, effective from July 23, 2025. The move comes as the platform reports a surge in paid subscribers, reaching 41 million at the end of Q1 2025, up from 36 million at the end of 2024.
The new pricing structure for Peacock is as follows:
- Peacock Premium (Ad-supported): $10.99/month - Peacock Premium Plus (Ad-free): $16.99/month - Peacock Select (Basic): $7.99/month (new tier with limited content)
This latest price increase marks the third time Peacock's prices have been adjusted in three years. Compared to its competitors, Peacock's new prices are competitive but lean towards the higher end of the spectrum for ad-supported and ad-free options.
The most similar pricing to Peacock Premium can be found at Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Paramount+, with their standard plans ranging from $10.99 to $13.99 per month. However, Peacock's ad-free Premium Plus option is more expensive than its competitors, with Netflix Premium priced at $17.99 and Disney+ Premium at $19.99 per month.
The price increase for Peacock's annual Premium plan will rise from $79.99 to $109.99, while the Premium Plus annual plan will increase from $95.88 to $169.99. The new Peacock Select tier, offering a more limited content library, will be priced at $7.99 per month and $79.99 per year.
NBCU is testing this new Peacock Select tier, which will feature NBC and Bravo current seasons, as well as an assortment of library titles. The platform will also stream live sports such as "Sunday Night Football", the NBA, WNBA, Premier League, Big Ten, the FIFA World Cup in Spanish, and more.
Peacock's latest price increase is associated with the success of "Love Island USA" and the upcoming return of the NBA on NBC. The streaming service will also feature the return of "The Traitors" and new scripted originals like "The Paper".
Current Peacock customers will see the price changes on their next billing date, with new and returning customers seeing the changes from July 23. NBC has several major events lined up, including Super Bowl LX, next year's NBA All-Star Weekend, the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics in February 2026.
