Philly teams 76ers and Devils' parent company HBSE given a $3 billion valuation by Arctos Investment.
Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) Valued at $14.58 Billion Following Arctos Sports Partners Investment
The sports empire owned by Josh Harris and David Blitzer, Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), has seen a significant boost in its valuation. According to recent reports, the updated total valuation of HBSE is approximately $14.58 billion as of mid-2025.
This increase in value comes after Arctos Sports Partners, a prominent sports investment firm, made an investment in HBSE. Arctos Sports Partners has been active in the sports industry, with investments in various teams across the National Hockey League (NHL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), English Premier League, and more.
The deal, which closed last week, was announced on Monday morning. The investment by Arctos Sports Partners values HBSE at over $3 billion, a substantial increase from its previous valuation.
HBSE is the parent company of the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils. The current valuations of these two major franchises are $2.67 billion and $750 million, respectively, according to Sportico's current valuations.
Arctos Sports Partners' investment in HBSE is part of a larger trend in the sports industry. The firm closed a significant fund totaling over $4.1 billion, which includes investments in entities like HBSE, reflecting the rising valuations of sports ownership groups.
HBSE's valuation places it just ahead of Fenway Sports Group, which is valued at around $14.19 billion. This highlights HBSE's prominent status in global sports ownership.
In addition to its investments in HBSE, Arctos Sports Partners has also invested in Elevate Sports Ventures, a consultancy co-launched by HBSE in 2018. The firm has also invested in at least six MLB teams, including the Dodgers, Giants, Cubs, and the Red Sox (through Fenway Sports Group). Other investments include the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Tampa Bay Lightning, Minnesota Wild, Premier Lacrosse League, and Italian soccer club Atalanta.
Blitzer and Harris have also invested in the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Premier League club Crystal Palace, which are outside the HBSE umbrella. Harris is one of at least five bidders still involved in the Broncos auction.
Arctos Sports Partners has raised at least $5 billion across multiple funds, with at least $3.1 billion raised in its first fund and $1.1 billion in another, according to recent regulatory filings and emails sent to clients. The firm has executed at least 18 deals, including investments in multiple teams from the NHL, NBA, MLB, and English Premier League.
This investment by Arctos Sports Partners is a testament to the growing interest and value in the sports industry. As HBSE continues to grow and evolve, it will be interesting to see how this investment shapes its future.
