President Tokayev Meets Karaganda's Akim to Discuss Region's Booming Economy
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who took office in 2019, recently met with Karaganda region's akim, Ermakhanbet Bulekpayev. The meeting focused on the region's socio-economic progress and plans for the future.
Karaganda region's industrial sector is booming. The share of processing industry in the gross regional product is on the rise. This growth is supported by a surge in industrial production, which reached 3.2 trillion tenge in the first eight months, marking a 7% increase. Notably, AO Qarmet, a major player in the region, invested 110 billion tenge in modernising its enterprise during this period. This investment has led to a 6% increase in iron production, a 6.9% increase in steel production, and a 5% increase in rolled products.
Karaganda region's economy is showing strong growth, with significant investments and industrial production increases. The president's recent meeting with the region's akim highlights the government's commitment to further developing the region and improving the lives of its citizens.
