PSOE calls for enhanced train service in northern zones, specifically highlighting the Arroyo del Moro and Turruñuelos lines.

In the heart of Cordoba, the neighbourhoods of Huerta de Santa Isabel and Turrunuelos are facing a series of challenges that affect the daily lives of its residents. The current situation includes a lack of kindergartens and primary schools, insufficient pedestrian crossings, traffic difficulties, and scarce public transport services.

The city councilor responsible for addressing these issues is Isabel Bernal, a socialist member of the City Council of Cordoba. She has taken the matter to the City Council Plenum, reminding the municipal government of the need for better access by public transport in these neighbourhoods.

One of the key concerns is the absence of level pedestrian crossings, which forces families to cross busy roads to reach schools in other areas. Moreover, many roundabouts in the area are saturated at certain times, causing traffic jams and potential risks.

The city councilor has also proposed expanding the bike lane network to enhance accessibility by bicycle. Additionally, she has emphasised the need for more elevated pedestrian crossings, particularly those crossing roundabouts, to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

The current public transport lines, particularly line 3, are overloaded and do not provide good service, according to the councilor. This has led to incidents in the stretch from Glorieta Maria de Maeztu in Hipercor to the Torrecilla.

In an effort to address these issues, the PSOE in Cordoba demanded improvements in public transportation, better road infrastructure, and enhanced pedestrian and cycling paths back in February. Since then, there have been some advancements in bus services and road maintenance, but challenges in traffic congestion and mobility in the newly expanded district remain.

The neighbors in these areas are urgently demanding that the PP government seeks solutions to improve traffic and mobility planning. The PSOE understands that all these improvements are necessary and urgent, but the municipal government of the PP has not given an adequate response to the residents of this area.

The city councilor has stated that these improvements were already claimed in February, and she continues to advocate for the proposed improvements in mobility and public transport in these neighbourhoods. It is hoped that the necessary changes will be implemented soon to improve the quality of life for the residents of Huerta de Santa Isabel and Turrunuelos.
