Tomsk residents have bought more than a thousand transport cards to pay for public transit fares, according to an unnamed representative from the city's Department of Urban Affairs.

Previously, it was announced that as of January 2025, passengers in Tomsk would be able to pay for transit rides using these transport cards. The initial activation fee for the card is set at 100 rubles. Initially, the card was operational in eight bus routes in Tomsk. To pay for rides on inter-municipal routes, a different card is required.

"Today, the company 'Project' has issued over 1000 transport cards. People are using them. You can purchase a transport card at the branches of Gazprombank or submit a request for it to be delivered," the spokesperson stated to the press.

Currently, the transport cards can be used to pay for fares on electric transit as well as in ten bus routes – NoNo 4, 8/9, 11, 12, 19, 20, 29, 53, 13/14, 30/33. However, passengers cannot use cards on buses NoNo 5, 23, 26, 38, as the transportation providers have yet to sign contracts.
