Rapid Clearing of Bautzner Street!
Unleashing the Revamped Bautzner Street in Dresden 🌇
After a two-year construction saga, Dresden's Bautzner Street is ready to roll again! The street, stretched between Prießnitzstraße and Stolpener Straße, officially reopens to traffic from 12 noon this Friday. 🎉
The area witnessed the demolition of an infamous accident hotspot, and at the same time, the city's Public Works Department revamped the bridge over Prießnitz, which took a hit from flooding.
With the arrival of Monday morning, the tram line 11 will once again rumble on the Bautzner Street, reverting to its normal route to Bühlau. Bus rides have been the norm for passengers over the past couple of years, but that's changing. Just in time for the Castle Night and the numerous other upcomingevents around Saloppe and Co., travelers will now have more room to breathe (literally and figuratively) in their air-conditioned trams. 🚃
But the revival is not limited to just the bridge and the road. The "Diakonissenkrankenhaus" tram stop is now barrier-free. The incoming city-bound stop has been shifted to the newly constructed bridge, and the tracks have been prepared for use by the latest, spacious trams.
The bike paths now connect over the bridge and stretch towards Waldschlößchenbrücke. Although the ongoing high-rise construction work at Pulsnitzer Straße prevents the same on the other side, commuters will find new bike paths closer than ever.
Two benches and a waste bin have been installed at Forststraße, and the area is now adorned with trees and hedges.
The revamped Bautzner Street, a strategic artery in Dresden, will now serve the transportation sector more efficiently, facilitating the movement of trams along the industry-centric route towards Buëhlau. Simultaneously, the finance sector may witness increased economic activity due to the improved infrastructure, attracting a wider audience for events like Castle Night and others nearby.
