Reappearance of Lamborghini's Fighter Jet-Inspired Concept Car After Decades of Concealment
The Lamborghini Pregunta concept, a unique collaboration between Lamborghini and coachbuilder Carrosserie Heuliez, will be going up for auction next month. This one-of-a-kind vehicle, which originally debuted at the 1998 Paris Motor Show, has been in the hands of various owners since its exhibition.
The Lamborghini Pregunta concept is based on the Diablo and features a 5.7-liter V12 engine, producing an impressive 530 hp (395 kW / 537 PS) and 446 lb-ft (605 Nm) of torque. This powerful engine is connected to a five-speed manual transmission, allowing the Pregunta to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 209 mph (337 km/h).
The exterior of the Pregunta concept boasts carbon fiber bodywork and matte grey paint that echoes the delta wing jet, giving it a sleek and futuristic appearance. The canopy-like greenhouse, complete with scissor doors and two removable polycarbonate roof panels, adds to its distinctive design.
Inside, the Pregunta concept offers a luxurious driving experience with two Azure Blue seats wrapped in Alcantara upholstery, a digital instrument cluster, an Alpine audio system, fiber-optic lighting, four-point harnesses, and rearview camera displays.
The Lamborghini Pregunta concept has had a rich history since its creation. After its debut, the car was previously in the hands of coachbuilder Carrosserie Heuliez for a decade. Following this, the car was purchased by the American car collector William Harrah after the 1998 exhibition and has changed owners twice since then. In 2021, the car was serviced by Lamborghini's heritage division.
Now, the Lamborghini Pregunta concept is being auctioned by Broad Arrow Auctions on October 10. The auction will take place at Approach Golf in Knokke-Heist, Belgium. According to the auction estimate, the Pregunta concept is valued between $2.96 (€2.5) and $4.1 (€3.5) million.
Currently, the Lamborghini Pregunta concept is owned by a private collector, offering a rare opportunity for another enthusiast to add this unique vehicle to their collection.
