Save some dough while filling up! E10 gasoline and diesel are cheaper than ever this year, as highlighted by the ADAC's weekly price comparison.

E10 gas has taken a 1.5-cent plunge, averaging a nationwide price of 1.672 euros per liter on Tuesday. Meanwhile, diesel has dropped by 1.6 cents, settling at 1.556 euros – a monumental low not seen since December 13, 2022, or even as far back as October 3, 2022!

The ADAC pins the current dip on the falling oil price. Yet, the car club criticizes that customers have yet to enjoy the full benefits of the lower oil prices – room for an additional drop is believed to exist.

Delving into the past and present dynamics of fuel prices, consider these factors impacting prices:

  1. Global Economic Trends: Fuel costs typically respond to global supply and demand fluctuations, geopolitical events, and economic conditions.
  2. Government Subsidies and Policies: During tough economic periods, governments can step in to offer temporary subsidies or tax reductions to help consumers cope.
  3. Market Volatility: Energy markets can be quite capricious, with prices affected by factors like weather, geopolitical uncertainties, and sudden shifts in global energy demand.

As of April 2025, gasoline prices in Germany averaged 2.03 USD/Liter, or approximately 1.85 Euros/Liter (with a 1.10 USD/EUR exchange rate). Be aware that the prices mentioned in the article pertain to 2023 and may not reflect the current reality in 2025.

For specific fuel prices like E10 and diesel in 2025, it's best to consult local fuel stations or use a fuel price tracker app. Gasoline prices have been on an uptick, suggesting that other fuel types may follow suit – stay tuned!

  2. Despite the average industrial price of diesel reducing considerably in 2022, the finance sector is closely monitoring the continuation of this trend, especially in the energy market, to assess potential impacts.
  3. As the energy industry continues to see drops in diesel prices, advocates are urging politicians to consider strategies that could further reduce the cost of diesel, such as implementing government policies or subsidies.
  4. In the wake of the record low diesel prices seen in 2023, policymakers are examining the possibility of future reductions, looking at factors like the global economic climate, oil prices, and geopolitical events, to determine the longevity of the current low prices.
