Regional inspection focusing on illicit pig fur trade in the hairdressing and cosmetics sector, involving barbershops and nail salons under the code name HZA-SW
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt recently carried out a regional special audit last week, focusing on the hairdressing and cosmetics industry. A total of 90 officials from the Financial Control Schwarzarbeit (FKS) were involved in the audit, which took place in Lower Franconia and large parts of Upper Franconia.
During the audit, a total of 79 inspected businesses, 166 surveyed individuals, and 17 on-site investigations were initiated. The inspections aimed to maintain a high number of preventive checks in certain industries and serve as an important instrument for reducing the social acceptance of undeclared work and illegal employment.
In the course of the audit, numerous deficiencies regarding mandatory notification and recording obligations were identified in the businesses. Evidence of non-payment of the statutory minimum wage of 12.82 euros was found in eight cases. There was a suspicion of illegal employment of foreign workers in eight cases, and in nine cases, there was a concrete suspicion of withholding and misappropriation of wages.
Indications of possible violations were found in 42 further cases during the audit. However, no new specific violations or findings were mentioned in this paragraph.
