Regulated Flow of Vehicular Traffic Along the Luxembourg Highway

In an effort to address repeated complaints about traffic jams, particularly those caused by right-turning vehicles onto Kaulardstraße when railway crossing barriers are closed, the city of Hürth and Landesbetrieb Straßenbau NRW (Straßen.NRW) have developed a solution for the traffic issue at the intersection of Luxemburger Straße/Kaulardstraße in Efferen's Hürth district.

Mayor Dirk Breuer has explained that the new traffic management is being implemented to improve traffic flow and enhance traffic safety. The final marking and traffic sign plan for the new traffic management has already been approved, and the work is ready to begin.

The responsible party for the implementation of the new traffic management system is the municipal traffic engineering department of the city of Hürth. The work will take place on the weekends of July 12 and 13, 2025.

The work schedule has been planned to minimize disruption to daily traffic. Marking work will be done in the flowing traffic without closures to minimize the impact on ongoing traffic. Temporary restrictions due to cones and 30 km/h signs will be in place during the work.

The new traffic management system is a collaborative effort between the city of Hürth and Landesbetrieb Straßenbau NRW (Straßen.NRW). The aim is to streamline traffic flow and ensure the safety of all road users.

The new traffic regulations have already been approved by the police. If necessary, the work can be postponed to August 9 and 10, 2025. The new traffic management will be implemented in the near future at the intersection of Luxemburger Straße/Kaulardstraße.

The solution involves adjusting the markings and traffic management in the entrance area of the intersection. The work is part of the implementation of the new traffic management system at the intersection. The city of Hürth looks forward to improving traffic flow and enhancing traffic safety in the area.
