BMW UK is offering a rare glimpse of the X3 M50, a model that boasts a unique and aggressive look, thanks to a set of 22-inch wheels and other enhancements.

The beefy wheel setup, codenamed "1134 M," gives the X3 more presence, even if it's not a full-fledged Tesla Model S. These wheels, priced at €5,500 on BMW's German website, come with 255/35R22 front and 285/30R22 rear tires.

The decision to equip the BMW X3 M50 with such a large wheel set, a rear air deflector system, and an M Performance windshield decal is typically made by BMW's design and M Performance division as part of official M Performance upgrade packages or individual customer customization options offered by BMW.

At the back, the roof-edge rear spoiler is finished in high-gloss black with a split layout, a design choice that continues across the M Performance rear bumper trim and front splitter. The glossy black treatment ties the look of the X3 together, giving it a cohesive and striking appearance.

However, the X3 M50 model does not have matte black side decals along the doors, a feature that is common in some BMW X3 variants. Furthermore, it does not have an aramid roof antenna, a detail that some might find surprising given the extensive modifications.

The glossy black treatment continues to be a recurring theme in BMW's upcoming electric vehicles. The electric BMW iX3 is anticipated to be among the first hot EVs from BMW M, and a true Tesla Model S variant of the electric iX3 is expected in the future.

Another anticipated hot EV from BMW M is the M3 "ZA0" model, which was recently spotted without a combustion engine. However, BMW is not planning to push the X3 any further with a full-blown Tesla Model S version.

The X3 in Brooklyn Grey is the hotter M Performance model, as indicated by its quad exhaust system. The roof-edge rear spoiler is not just for show and brings real aerodynamic benefits, according to BMW.
