ZG Raiffeisen Expands into Achern with a Comprehensive Building Materials and Hardware Store

ZG Raiffeisen, a cooperative market, has expanded its operations to the town of Achern, opening a new building materials and hardware store. The Rastatt branch, now the only hardware store and building materials store for business customers in Achern, offers a wide range of products and services to cater to various construction needs.

The Rastatt site spans an impressive 2,000 square meters, with an indoor exhibition dedicated to tiles, floor coverings, doors, gates, and windows, and an outdoor garden exhibition covering 800 square meters. In addition to these product offerings, the site also caters to topics such as civil engineering, deep foundation, roofing, and facades.

To support building projects and ensure the delivery of goods in and around Achern and Rastatt, the Rastatt site offers order service, logistics, a fleet of vehicles, and extensive storage facilities. The adjacent building materials market is also part of the Rastatt branch.

The ZG Raiffeisen Building Materials Branch in Rastatt serves both private and professional customers, offering products and consulting services. This expansion comes after the closure of the long-standing Achern-based company, Rauch, which left a gap in the market.

Rauch, active in the northern Ortenau region for generations, offered a diverse product range including tools, garden furniture, farm machinery, grills, and fireplaces. Despite efforts to focus on business customers like craft businesses in the construction industry, Rauch's transition did not yield quick enough results.

The newly opened rainwater park in Rastatt showcases the theme of rainwater management, further emphasising ZG Raiffeisen's commitment to sustainable practices. As the effects of the expansion on local hardware and building materials stores are yet to be seen, it remains to be seen how this development will impact the local market.
