Revised Schedule of Rhine Railway Brings Extra ERGO-Station to Kleverstraße in Düsseldorf
Effective August 7, changes are set to unfold in the local transportation system, with the ERGO Insurance company joining Provincial Insurance as the namesake for a tram stop and certain bus routes.
Starting Monday, the tram stop at Klever Street will bear the new moniker, "ERGO Square - Klever Street," replacing its former label, Provincial Square. This alteration has been echoed in the Rheinbahn app, signifying the official change. The city administration's decision to rename the stop was made on March 15, 2023, following a proposal by Bezirksvertretung 1 in the summer of 2018, which suggested marking the area between Fischerstraße and Victoriaplatz/Cecilienallee as "ERGO Square." ERGO Insurance is responsible for the entire cost of renaming and resigning the stop.
In a related development, the former "Airport Administration" is now identified as "Airport City East."
Further adjustments to transport services include modifications to specific bus lines.
Bus Lines SB51 and 896 will, in both directions, run via Klaus-Bungert-Straße to improve connectivity to Airport City. The stop "Airport Administration" will be renamed to "Airport City East." Additionally, buses on the SB51 line traveling from Kaarst will also halt at the "Airport Terminal A/B/C" stop.
Bus Lines 721 and 760 are likewise set to route through Klaus-Bungert-Straße in both directions. A new stop, christened "Airport City West," will be established.
As for Bus Line 752 and 754, services on line 754 will be discontinued, while buses on line 752 will maintain a consistent 60-minute interval between Düsseldorf and Mülheim, including weekends and public holidays.
While details regarding the renaming of Klever Street and the event surrounding it are not readily available, the changes to the transportation system promise to streamline and enhance services for commuters.
The ERGO Insurance company, having taken over naming rights, will rebrand the tram stop at Klever Street as "ERGO Square - Klever Street," effective from August 7.
