Road shutdown on A8 highway, Pforzheim, from December 1st to 4th, 2023
The Southwest branch of Autobahn GmbH has announced construction work on the A8 near Pforzheim, which is scheduled to take place from Friday, December 1, 2023, at 8 p.m., until Monday, December 4, 2023, around 5 a.m.
During this period, the A8 will be completely closed in both directions between the Pforzheim-South and Pforzheim-North junctions. Regional traffic will be routed via existing demand detours, and interregional traffic between the Leonberg motorway junction and the Walldorf motorway interchange will be rerouted via the A81 and A6.
For those travelling towards Karlsruhe, the detour will be via the U26a and U28 from the Pforzheim-South junction, continuing through Wurmberg, Wiernsheim, Niefern-Oschelbronn, Mühlacker, Ötisheim, Ölbronn-Dürrn, and the B 294 at Pforzheim-Nord, and then back onto the motorway. The detour towards Stuttgart is via the U7a and U9 up to the Pforzheim-South junction onto the A8 in the direction of Stuttgart.
Extensive crane work will be conducted in the area of the Green Bridge, and necessary asphalt and slope stabilization work will be carried out in the area of the "Karlsruhe Hill". The construction measures to be carried out over the weekend include demolition of the supporting structure and installation of drainage at the new Sallenbuschweg bridge over the A8 at the Pforzheim service station.
The Autobahn GmbH is urging road users to use the signposted routes and not to take "shortcuts" to minimize burdens on residents and road users. Official detour routes will be signposted during the closure.
