Romania's Maramures Airport seeks financial aid for solar power plant construction
In the heart of northern Romania, Maramureș International Airport has announced plans for a renewable energy project. The project, which is yet to secure funding, aims to construct a 2.5 MW photovoltaic park and an integrated battery storage system.
The project's details were revealed by the company Next Energy, who submitted the funding application on July 14. The application, once approved, will pave the way for the construction of a solar park and a battery storage facility at the airport.
The proposed project also includes an integrated battery storage system, a crucial component for storing excess energy generated by the solar park. This system will ensure a steady supply of electricity, even during periods of low solar output.
Maramureș International Airport has submitted a funding request for this project, but the source of the funding remains undisclosed in the official announcement.
This renewable energy project is a significant step towards Romania's goal of increasing its renewable energy capacity and reducing carbon emissions. The construction of the photovoltaic park and the battery storage system will contribute to the airport's energy needs while promoting sustainable energy solutions.
