Saxony-Anhalt Launches 500,000 Euro Outdoor Pool Fund
Saxony-Anhalt has launched a new special program to fund communal outdoor pools, with a total of 500,000 euros available. Applications must be submitted by July 22, 2022, to the State Administration Office of Saxony-Anhalt. The funds can be used for renovating, modernising, and expanding the usability of existing outdoor pools, including those for disabled and rehabilitation sports.
Municipalities, municipal associations, and municipal companies are eligible if the municipality holds more than 50% of the shares. The funds can be used for various aspects of the pools, such as swimming pools, circulation areas, sanitary facilities, and water treatment plants. All local governments with communal swimming pools in Saxony-Anhalt had the opportunity to apply for funding. The funding amount can cover up to 80% of the costs, with a maximum of 50,000 euros per municipal outdoor pool. Funded projects must be completed by December 31, 2022.
