Simon Schütz has been appointed as the Head of the Communication, Events & Marketing department at the Association of the German Automotive Industry (VDA). In this role, Schütz will oversee the department responsible for the VDA's communication strategies, events, and marketing efforts.

Schütz brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having worked as a journalist in Germany and the USA before his appointment at the VDA. This extensive journalism experience could potentially bring a unique perspective to the VDA's communication, events, and marketing strategies.

Schütz will be responsible for managing various VDA events such as the Mobility Innovation Summit, Mittelstandstag, and Forum Automobillogistics. He will also handle IAA MOBILITY and IAA TRANSPORTATION communication and marketing.

Schütz's diverse portfolio at the VDA includes overseeing press, digital, events, IAA communication, and marketing sectors. His familiarity with the VDA's operations and culture, gained from his previous work, may aid in his new role's success.

In addition to managing the VDA’s communication channels and representing the industry’s interests in public discussions, as shown in his interview on the Zollkonflikt (tariff conflict) between the EU and the USA, Schütz will also be responsible for the corresponding marketing at the VDA.

Schütz's new role at the VDA involves managing press, digital, events, IAA communication, and marketing sectors. His strategic approach, honed from his journalism career, is expected to contribute significantly to the VDA's communication and marketing efforts.

Katharina Sophie Bellstedt, who recently joined the VDA as a Digital Editorial Officer, reports directly to Schütz. This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the VDA, as Schütz's leadership and strategic vision are set to shape the organisation's communication and marketing strategies.
