Mexico City Metro Line A Resumes Service After Temporary Closures

Good news for commuters in Mexico City! After a brief maintenance period, the Metro system has resumed service on Line A. The line, which runs east-west connecting several boroughs in the city, is now operational from Pantitlán to La Paz.

However, a section between Santa Martha and Canal de San Juan stations on Line A remains temporarily closed for maintenance work. This closure affects the stations Tepalcates, Guelatao, Penón Viejo, and Acatitla.

To support passengers during this time, replacement bus services have been provided for the closed segment. These buses are operating in both directions, ensuring continued connectivity despite the station closures.

This approach is common practice during metro maintenance in Mexico City, aiming to maintain rider flow and minimize inconvenience. The focus of these maintenance efforts is on improving service quality and safety.

It's important to note that Line A is currently operating provisionally in two sections: Pantitlán-Canal de San Juan and La Paz-Santa Martha. The line retains its full original route, serving neighborhoods in the eastern part of Mexico City and adjacent municipalities.

Apart from these temporary closures, no other major infrastructure or service changes for Line A were indicated in the latest July 2025 data. The Metro system continues to focus on upkeep and ensuring safe, efficient operation on one of the city's key transit corridors.

In addition, two auxiliary vehicles are being removed from the track for maintenance on Line A. Passengers are advised to check the official Metro website or WhatsApp for the latest updates on service and any potential disruptions.
